Manual helps small-scale growers improve post-harvest practices
The University of California, Davis, recently published “Small Scale Postharvest Practices: A Manual for Horticultural Crops” on its Web site, making it free to download, according to a news release.
The 267-page publication covers the gamut from selecting harvesting containers to maturity standards, managing storage problems and transportation.
Most of the major fruit, vegetable and nut crops are covered.
