Fight greening with vigilance, roguing infected trees

The best strategy for combatting citrus greening, or haunglongbing, remains a vigilant program including frequent pesticide sprays and removing infected trees as quickly as possible.
That was the message delivered by a Brazilian epidemiologist visiting the Citrus Research and Education Center in Lake Alfred.
His comments were based on the experiences of citrus growers in Brazil, where the industry has been battling greening since 2004.
