Bayer introduces a more powerful Rely herbicide

Published: March, 08 2010

The Environmental Protection Agency has registered Rely 280 herbicide from Bayer CropScience for post-emergent weed control in trees, nuts, vines and several berry crops.

The California Department of Pesticide Regulation also registered the product, according to a news release.

Rely 280 is a more powerful formulation than previous ones.

Among the specific crops it is labeled on are apples, tree nuts, grapes and bushberies. It's also labeled as a potato vine desiccant.

The product contains the active ingredient glufosinate-ammonium.

It provides nonselective, contact control of emerged broadleaf weeds and grasses, including those resistant to glyphosate and other herbicide classes.
